SHS vs ERW

We often get approached by clients who want a blackened steel effect for large one-off projects. To achieve this industrial look, we manufacture these projects out of SHS (structural hollow section - left) as opposed to ERW (electric resistant weld - right). SHS is a much heavier gauge steel and comes with a darker mill finish and larger edge radius than ERW; these 2 features alongside the general industrial usage of this steel make it ideal for creating a strong industrial look.
